Baseball Game Preview: Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers vs. Point Pleasant Big Blacks

The Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers will square off against the Point Pleasant Big Blacks at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Buckhannon-Upshur is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Morgantown, who was ranked ninth at the time (Buckhannon-Upshur was ranked 25th). The Buccaneers came up short against the Mohigans on Tuesday, falling 12-2.

Buckhannon-Upshur saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Mason, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Point Pleasant never let their opponents score on Monday. They put the hurt on Pendleton County with a sharp 10-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Big Blacks.

Point Pleasant's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Buckhannon-Upshur, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
