Basketball Game Preview: Western Christian Fighting Lancers vs. Southlands Christian Eagles

Western Christian has gone 3-0 against Southlands Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Western Christian Fighting Lancers will host the Southlands Christian Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Both are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Western Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Magnolia Science Academy 59-9 on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Fighting Lancers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Western Christian found their leader in sophomore Hannah Yamamoto, who went 9 for 13 on her way to 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Yamamoto has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Webster, who posted nine points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Western Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 31 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Southlands Christian took their match back in December of 2024 with ease, bagging a 55-9 victory over Magnolia Science Academy. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 20 points or more this season.

Southlands Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.6 points. As for Western Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.

Everything came up roses for Western Christian against Southlands Christian in their previous meeting back in November of 2019, as the team secured a 64-15 win.
