It was fun while it lasted, but Walker's undefeated season came to an end after 25 games on Friday. They fell 60-50 to the Denham Springs Yellowjackets. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Yellowjackets earlier this season, when they won 58-55.

When it comes to explaining why Walker lost, don't look at Arionna Patterson. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards. The matchup was Patterson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiera Fountain, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Taylor Smith was her usual excellent self, going 6 of 9 en route to 19 points and five boards for Denham Springs. Smith has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Prai Nelson, who went 7 for 13 on her way to 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Walker's loss ended a 24-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 25-1. As for Denham Springs, they pushed their record up to 17-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Walker has already played their next contest, a 74-40 win against East Ascension on the 28th. Denham Springs has also already played their next game (against St. Amant), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
