Baseball Recap: Woodgrove Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

Woodgrove had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Tuscarora Huskies by a score of 4-1 on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-3 back in March.

Dane Marsh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 7 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Vincenzo Cusat, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Walker Kennedy also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Woodgrove pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Tuscarora, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-14.

Looking ahead, Woodgrove will take on Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pride will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Wolverines surely won't give up without a fight. Tuscarora does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
