Baseball Recap: Grace Comes Up Short

Grace came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 7-1 to the Golden Valley Grizzlies. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Grizzlies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2019.

Grace saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makai Saiki, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Grace moved to 10-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Golden Valley, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grace will take on Hueneme at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Golden Valley, they will challenge Canyon at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
