Fairfield hasn't had much luck against Carmi-White County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mules will head out on the road to face off against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. Fairfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Fairfield was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Gallatin County on Monday. The Mules' pitcher stepped up to hand the Hawks a 15-0 shutout. The Mules haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Kenry Hutchcraft made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Serenity Dagg was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jocelynn Lee, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles.
Fairfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Carmi-White County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Massac County 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since March 28th.
The team relied heavily on Alayna Johnson, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4. Those home runs marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Torrie Rider, who went 1-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Fairfield's record is now 8-10. As for Carmi-White County, their record now sits at 7-8.
Fairfield might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Carmi-White County in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Mules avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
