Baseball Game Preview: Frontier Cougars vs. River Pilots

Frontier is 2-8 against River since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cougars will head out to challenge the Pilots at 4:00 p.m. River took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Frontier, who comes in off a win.

Frontier let Bridgeport stack four runs on them in the seventh inning on Wednesday but luckily Frontier prevailed anyway. The Cougars walked away with an 8-5 win over the Bulldogs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Aidan Wolfe looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Davyn Ferrell and Zerik Rinard did most of the damage at the plate: Ferrell went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs, while Rinard got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of True King, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, River fell victim to Toronto and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Red Knights, falling 10-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Pilots have suffered since May 7, 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for River and nudges their season record down to 3-4. As for Frontier, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Frontier skirted past River 6-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pilots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
