Baseball Recap: Guthrie Comes Up Short

Guthrie has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.65 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Newcastle Racers. The Bluejays just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Guthrie's loss dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Newcastle, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.

Guthrie will face off against Western Heights at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Newcastle, they are taking a road trip to take on Lone Grove at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Longhorns will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Racers surely won't give up without a fight.
