Baseball Game Preview: Washburn Beavers vs. Ashland Hornets

The Washburn Beavers will take on the Ashland Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Washburn and ten for Ashland dating back to last season.

Washburn lost 20-4 to Katahdin on Thursday.

Washburn saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tommy King, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. Nason Nadeau also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Ashland fell victim to Katahdin and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 18-0.

Washburn's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Ashland, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything went Washburn's way against Ashland in their previous meeting back in June of 2025, as Washburn made off with a 14-4 victory. Do the Beavers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
