Middletown wins going away against Cloverdale

Recap: Middletown Mustangs vs. Cloverdale Eagles

Even though the Middletown Mustangs have not done well against the Cloverdale Eagles recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Middletown was the clear victor by a 56-36 margin over Cloverdale. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-8.

Cloverdale's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Patton, who scored 14 points. That was a full 38.9% of Cloverdale's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kyle Garibaldi, who scored five points along with two steals and two blocks.

Middletown has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Cloverdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-12.

Middletown will play host again and welcome Kelseyville, where tip off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Kelseyville's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches. As for Cloverdale, they will head out on the road to take on Willits at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
