Baseball Recap: Oak Grove Takes a Loss

Oak Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Evergreen Valley Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 on Tuesday.

Brandon Stewart made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Oak Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Evergreen Valley, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak Grove will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Del Mar at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Evergreen Valley, they will take on Lynbrook at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
