Basketball Recap: Mullen Mustangs vs. Regis Jesuit Raiders
Mullen lost against Regis Jesuit back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Mullen Mustangs took a 67-48 bruising from the Regis Jesuit Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Raiders are ranked fourth).

Despite the loss, Mullen still got an impressive performance from Mason Bonner, who went 9 for 11 on his way to 19 points in addition to eight boards and six blocks. Bonner's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Medina, who posted 11 points and five assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Regis Jesuit to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lucas Dickinson, who had 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The dominant performance gave Dickinson a new career-high in assists. Eric Fiedler was another key player, going 7 of 17 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds.
Mullen moved to 7-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Regis Jesuit, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Mullen will head out to challenge Holy Family at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Regis Jesuit, they will venture away from home to take on Cherry Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Regis Jesuit's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
