Basketball Game Preview: Midland Chemics vs. Traverse City Central Trojans

Midland is 0-3 against Traverse City Central since December of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Midland Chemics will host the Traverse City Central Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Midland is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Michigan's top teams: Freeland, who was ranked 19th at the time (Midland was ranked ninth). Midland fell just short of Freeland by a score of 51-49 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, after a string of 12 wins, Traverse City Central's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost to Grand Haven on the road by a 54-40 margin.

Midland's loss dropped their record down to 18-2. As for Traverse City Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.

Midland ended up a good deal behind Traverse City Central in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, losing 54-38. Can Midland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
