Baseball Game Preview: Liberal Redskins vs. Hays Indians

Liberal is 0-10 against Hays since April of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Redskins will be playing at home against the Indians. Liberal will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

On Tuesday, Liberal needed a bit of extra time to put away Dodge City. They had just enough and edged out the Demons 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Redskins have posted since April 22nd.

Alexander Schwindt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Schwindt was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Liberal got a big performance out of Kye Morris, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave Morris a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Landon Martinez, who went 4-for-6 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Hays and Thomas More Prep-Marian finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 tie on Saturday.

With that draw, Hays' record moves to 12-8-1. As for Liberal, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.
