Baseball Recap: Seattle Academy Victorious

It was a proper cat-fight when Seattle Academy took on Seattle Prep on Friday. The Cardinals walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Panthers. This was payback for the Cardinals, who suffered an 8-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

Dashiell Story made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Eli Herst and Chase Davidson did most of the damage at the plate: Herst went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Davidson got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those four RBI gave Herst a new career-high. Quinn Haupert was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Seattle Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-7-2. As for Seattle Prep, they dropped their record down to 10-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Seattle Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Bishop Blanchet at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Seattle Prep will square off against rival Garfield at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
