Baseball Game Preview: Calhoun Academy Cougars vs. Hebron Christian Eagles

Calhoun Academy has gone a perfect 10-0 against Hebron Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Calhoun Academy is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Kirk Academy just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Raiders, falling 11-1. The Cougars were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the four games prior), but the Raiders' pitchers proved too tough.

Calhoun Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Allen, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. Allen has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.

Meanwhile, Hebron Christian had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 16-2 to Calhoun Academy last Friday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Calhoun Academy's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Hebron Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Everything went Calhoun Academy's way against Hebron Christian in their previous matchup last Friday, as Calhoun Academy made off with a 16-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
