Baseball Recap: Malakoff Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Malakoff's offense. They fell just short of the Ferris Yellowjackets by a score of 1-0 on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by just one run.

Bear Leis was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched.

This is the second loss in a row for Malakoff and nudges their season record down to 7-7. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Ferris, their record now sits at 6-7-3.

Malakoff has already played their next game, a 17-0 victory against Winona on the 25th. As for Ferris, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-2 defeat against Grand Saline on the 24th.
