Wadsworth had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 2-4 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Highland Hornets. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Grizzlies also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Wadsworth got a great performance from Cody Caplinger as he struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

On the hitting side, Ryan Stoops was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Stoops is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Jason Copeland was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Wadsworth hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highland struck out ten times.

Having lost for the first time this season, Highland fell to 11-1. The game marked their lowest-scoring match so far this season.

On Highland's side, they got a good showing from Luke McCool, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs McCool has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Highland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Sooy, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Anthony DePompei also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
