Basketball Recap: Newman International Academy Takes a Loss

Newman International Academy had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 70-47 to Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool.

When it comes to explaining why Newman International Academy lost, don't look at JB Brown. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-12 en route to 19 points. Patrick Brown was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool to victory, but perhaps none more so than David Aguilar, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 15 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy Jones, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 14 points.

Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool's record now sits at 2-0.

Looking ahead, Newman International Academy is taking a road trip to challenge Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-54 defeat against Fort Worth THESA on the 8th.
