Basketball Recap: Laila Harvey's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Eastside over Woodmont

Eastside lost against Woodmont back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Eastside Eagles fell to the Woodmont Wildcats 57-51. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Eastside's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laila Harvey, who posted 14 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kristen McBride, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 10 points and seven steals.

Eastside's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Woodmont, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Eastside won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wade Hampton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastside is facing Wade Hampton at the right time seeing as Wade Hampton is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Woodmont, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Easley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodmont will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Easley will have lost four straight heading into Tuesday's match.
