Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Austin Porta and Maddox Mousadis

Trinity Christian was the 48-47 winner over Madonna when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Trinity Christian Warriors lost to the Madonna Blue Dons at home by a 77-60 margin on Thursday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maddox Mousadis and Austin Porta certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Mousadis almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine boards, while Porta went 7 of 16 en route to 22 points and three steals. Porta's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Parker Hopkins was another key player, putting up eight points.

Koleton Grishkevich continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Madonna, earning 31 points. Grishkevich is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Angelo DoBraska, who posted 16 points.

Trinity Christian's record now sits at 1-10. As for Madonna, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season.

Trinity Christian will square off against Clay-Battelle at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Madonna, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-42 loss against Toronto on the 31st.
