Hayfork had already won seven in a row and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Chester Volcanoes. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 2-0 victory last Saturday.

While Hayfork won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-18, 25-22.

Riley Bayley paced Hayfork's offense, picking up 19 kills. Bayley got some help from Lydia Yarbrough and her 35 assists. Kaelynn Bayley controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Hayfork's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Chester, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Hayfork and Happy Camp will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chester, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Burney at 5:30 p.m. The contest will give the Volcanoes their first taste of in-conference action this season.
