6A Region 1 recap November 13, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 6A Region 1 this week, South Panola beat DeSoto Central 37-3. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Tigers.
South Panola took down the Jaguars 37-3 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Warren DeWalt was the best wideout in the league this week as Olive Branch lost to Tupelo. DeWalt tallied 10 receptions for 116 yards. KyKy Austin helped Olive Branch's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 18 yards.
6-foot-3 quarterback Ross Trail of the Conquistadors is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,626. He has also thrown 15 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Todd Wilson. The Horn Lake star has 50 catches for 667 yards.
Grenada's Kesner Spencer needs only 68 yards against Starkville next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 106 carries Spencer has put up 932 yards this year.
The Chargers and Hernando played the closest game in the league this week, with the Chargers eventually emerging with a 35-33 victory.
