Volleyball Game Preview: Concord Christian Lions vs. Silverdale Academy Seahawks

Concord Christian has gone a perfect 3-0 against Silverdale Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Lions will square off against the Seahawks at 12:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Saturday.

Concord Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They put the hurt on Boyd-Buchanan with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Concord Christian never let Boyd-Buchanan on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-23, 25-17.

Concord Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Katelyn Stooksbury out in front who had 20 digs and two aces. Stooksbury has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Manhattan Shuler, who had five aces and four digs.

Meanwhile, Silverdale Academy came tearing into Thursday's match with eight straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Providence Academy as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Silverdale Academy's got stronger as the match went on, holding Providence Academy to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-18, 25-17.

Concord Christian's win bumped their record up to 22-8. As for Silverdale Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 25-6.

Concord Christian took their win against Silverdale Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
