Baseball Recap: Zeigler-Royalton's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

Zeigler-Royalton has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against the Carbondale Terriers, falling 19-2. The loss was the Tornadoes' first of the season.

Chase Freeman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. He also scored a run, marking his first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Zeigler-Royalton fell to 5-1. As for Carbondale, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

Coming up, Zeigler-Royalton will venture away from home to take on Woodlawn at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Carbondale, they will square off against Nashville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
