Soccer Game Preview: Newfound Regional vs. Trinity

The Newfound Regional Bears will take on the Trinity Pioneers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Newfound Regional has given up an average of 2.9 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Newfound Regional managed to slip by Lin-Wood the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bears lost 5-2 to the Lumberjacks on Monday. Surprisingly, this marked Newfound Regional's third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Meanwhile, Trinity waltzed into their match last Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Orioles a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Trinity, who have now won five matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Trinity's win bumped their record up to 5-2-2. As for Newfound Regional, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5-2 record this season.
