Basketball Recap: Otay Ranch Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

Grossmont came into Saturday's match looking for another win against Otay Ranch, but Jordyn Webster wouldn't allow it. The Otay Ranch Mustangs walked away with a 55-48 win over the Grossmont Foothillers on Saturday thanks in part to Webster, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Otay Ranch's points.

Otay Ranch is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Grossmont, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Otay Ranch and Grossmont could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Otay Ranch (ranked 627th) will meet Mission Bay (ranked 150th) at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Grossmont (ranked 858th) will meet Central (ranked 344th) at 2:00 p.m. on December 26th.
