Baseball Game Preview: Trinity-Pawling School Pride vs. Taft School Big Red

The Trinity-Pawling School Pride will venture away from home to face off against the Taft School Big Red at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.

Trinity-Pawling School came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Westminster School, falling 11-1. Pride fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Martlets since on Saturday.

Trinity-Pawling School saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Cruz, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Taft School entered their tilt with Loomis Chaffee School on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Pelicans.

Noah Jettelson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Omar Minaya also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Taft School pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 5.25 runs across that stretch. As for Trinity-Pawling School, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Trinity-Pawling School came out on top in a nail-biter against Taft School when the teams last played on April 7th, sneaking past 6-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pride since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
