Softball Recap: French Settlement Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

It's playoff time, and French Settlement had no trouble coming through when it counted. They didn't even let the Marksville Tigers on the board on Wednesday, marking the Lions' second-straight 10-0 shutout. Considering the Lions have won 14 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was French Settlement's third in a row) raised their record to 18-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Marksville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-13.

Looking ahead, French Settlement will take on Kaplan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their 23rd straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. Marksville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
