Softball Recap: Dougherty Valley Takes a Loss

San Ramon Valley hit Dougherty Valley with a five-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats lost 12-2 to the Wolves. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

Dougherty Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Millert, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Dougherty Valley has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for San Ramon Valley, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6-2.

Meanwhile, San Ramon Valley will challenge rival California at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
