The home team had come away the winner the last four times Gaston Christian and Gaston Day had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Spartans on Thursday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by eight runs or more this season.

Xander Sutton was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Meridian Leffew, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Gaston Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gaston Day only posted an OBP of .188.

Gaston Christian's record is now 11-2. As for Gaston Day, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Gaston Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 5-1 win against Hickory Grove Christian on the 22nd. As for Gaston Day, they are taking a road trip to take on Westchester Country Day at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
