Grant waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Newaygo Lions with a sharp 17-8 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

Addison Herrmann spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and six unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Alexa Obenauf was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four runs, two RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Emma Thompson was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Grant kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in eight consecutive contests.

Grant's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Newaygo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Grant will challenge rival Reed City at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Newaygo is set to square off against their familiar foe White Cloud at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
