Softball Recap: Olympus Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Olympus waltzed into their contest on Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They beat the West Panthers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-2 back in March.

Olympus got a great performance from Charlie Turner as she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Turner has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Allisson Robles, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliza Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.

Olympus kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matches.

Olympus' win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for West, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

Looking ahead, Olympus will venture away from home to face off against East at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West, they will take on Hurricane at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
