Soccer Game Preview: Manteca vs. East Union

Manteca hasn't had much luck against East Union recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Manteca Buffaloes will challenge the East Union Lancers at 6:15 p.m.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Manteca turned things around against Mountain House on Tuesday. Neither they nor the Mustangs could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time the Buffaloes have been dealt a draw since back in January.

Meanwhile, East Union kept a clean sheet against Central Catholic on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 2-0. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 287th, while the Raiders are ranked 1071st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hugo Reyes and Yandel Gutierrez scored both of East Union's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

The victory made it two in a row for East Union and bumps their season record up to 12-4-7. Manteca's draw makes their record 2-17-3 this season.
