Martinsville Wins Seventh-Straight Thanks to AJ Reynolds

AJ Reynolds's big game helped extend Martinsville's winning streak to seven on Friday. Reynolds was unstoppable, throwing for 327 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 58 yards and two touchdowns.

Martinsville's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Reynolds and Martinsville will head out on the road to face off against Mooresville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Leugers Posts Huge Game in 34-13 Defeat

While Alex Leugers delivered a dominant performance on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Franklin Community. Leugers was dynamite, rushing for 175 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.9 yards per carry, and also picking up 64 receiving yards. His longest rush was for an incredible 95 yards.

If history really does repeat itself, Leugers might just drop another big game when he faces off against Greenwood on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Leugers saw the Woodmen), he rushed for 221 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per carry.

Another Game with at Least 113 Rushing Yards from Luke Starnes

Luke Starnes continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his seventh-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least 113 rushing yards. He rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 68 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Unfortunately for Franklin Community, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Starnes. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Starnes saw the Grizzly Cubs), he rushed for 54 yards and two touchdowns.

Hunter Stroud and Co. Win Seventh in a Row

Martinsville picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Hunter Stroud. Stroud's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 121 receiving yards dating back to last season.

This year, Stroud has caught 12 touchdowns while averaging 129.9 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he had three receiving touchdowns.

Kaden Bruhn Crosses Big Stat Threshold

Rounding off our Top Five is Kaden Bruhn of Mooresville. Bruhn picked up 126 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He's now once again averaging 100+ receiving yards (101.4) per game.

Bruhn and Mooresville will face off against Martinsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The last time Bruhn took on the Artesians, he picked up 66 receiving yards and a touchdown. Can he match (or beat) that performance?
