Softball Game Preview: Boylan Catholic Titans vs. Rochelle Hubs

The Boylan Catholic Titans will head out on the road to challenge the Rochelle Hubs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Boylan Catholic managed to slip by River Ridge/Scales Mound the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Titans lost 12-2 to the Wildcats on Saturday. The game marked the Titans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Boylan Catholic saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ari Ousley, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Rochelle fell victim to DeKalb and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Barbs, falling 6-0. The Hubs just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Mya Martinez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Boylan Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Rochelle, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Boylan Catholic couldn't quite get it done against Rochelle when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-2. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
