Football Game Preview: Fillmore Central Panthers vs. St. Cecilia Bluehawks

The Fillmore Central Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the St. Cecilia Bluehawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Cecilia took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Fillmore Central, who comes in off a win.

Fillmore Central's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They breezed past Gibbon to the tune of 49-0. The matchup marked the Panthers' most dominant win of the season.

Meanwhile, St. Cecilia ended up a good deal behind Doniphan-Trumbull on Friday and lost 24-7. The Bluehawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even if they lost, St. Cecilia's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. In that department, Karsten Zwiener was the leader with two. Another thorn in Doniphan-Trumbull's side was Talon Wiedner, who picked up a sack and made seven total tackles (2.0 for loss).

St. Cecilia's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Fillmore Central, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Everything went Fillmore Central's way against St. Cecilia in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Fillmore Central made off with a 35-13 win. In that game, the Panthers amassed a halftime lead of 21-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
