Softball Recap: Oberlin Takes a Loss

Oberlin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 19-3 to the Grand Lake Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 24-0 back in March.

Oberlin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Analise Young, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Oberlin's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Grand Lake, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Oberlin will host Basile at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bearcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.86 runs per game on average), something the Fightin Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Grand Lake, they will head out to take on Merryville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.
