Softball Game Preview: Conway Tigers vs. Carolina Forest Panthers

For the second straight game, Conway will face off against Carolina Forest. The Tigers will take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Conway fell victim to Carolina Forest and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 8-0. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

For Carolina Forest's part, Kaysen Warehime was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Warehime has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Avery Pellerin, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Lexi Wohlers also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Carolina Forest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matches.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Conway hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Carolina Forest struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs.
