Softball Recap: McNairy Central Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but McNairy Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Bedford North Lawrence Stars by a score of 4-3.

Kaylee Heathcock and Paige Mercer did some serious damage despite the final result: Heathcock went 1-for-2 with one home run, while Mercer scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave Mercer a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlee Shelton, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

McNairy Central's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Bedford North Lawrence, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as McNairy Central Bobcats face off against Evansville Reitz Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bedford North Lawrence, they will be taking part in a tournament against Forrest at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
