Softball Recap: Galena Grizzlies vs. South Tahoe Vikings

Galena scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the South Tahoe Vikings as the Galena Grizzlies made off with a 17-2 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Galena considering their one-run performance the contest before.

The team relied heavily on Jordan Gurney, who went 3-for-3 with two RBI and a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Fast, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

On South Tahoe's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haylee Boring, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Galena's win bumped their record up to 3-14-1. As for South Tahoe, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Galena will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Spanish Springs at 11:00 a.m. Spanish Springs will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Galena surely won't give up without a fight. As for South Tahoe, they will be playing at home against Truckee at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
