Basketball Game Preview: Anderson Indians vs. Kokomo Wildkats

The Anderson Indians will take on the Kokomo Wildkats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Anderson's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 16 contests.

Anderson had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 34-point drubbing they dealt Indianapolis Shortridge on Tuesday. Anderson claimed a resounding 86-52 victory over Indianapolis Shortridge. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Kokomo waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 96-90 W against the Red Devils. The Wildkats pushed the score to 84-59 by the end of the third, a deficit the Red Devils cut but never quite recovered from.

Anderson better keep an eye on Korbyn Hammel. He was instrumental in Kokomo's win, going 9-for-13 en route to 28 points along with seven assists and three steals. The dominant performance gave Hammel a new career-high in points. Zion Bellamy was another key player, going 7-for-13 on his way to 20 points.

Kokomo's win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Anderson, their victory bumped their record up to 19-2.
