Softball Recap: James Buchanan Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for James Buchanan's offense. They came up short against the Mercersburg Academy Storm on Thursday, falling 7-0. The Rockets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Storm apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

James Buchanan saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lilianna Wiley, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

James Buchanan has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Mercersburg Academy, they moved to 3-7 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, James Buchanan will face off against Clear Spring at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Mercersburg Academy, they will take on Blair County Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
