While the Berne Union Rockets couldn't quite beat Granville Christian Academy on Monday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 35-point defeat they were dealt last Friday. Berne Union fell just short of Granville Christian Academy by a score of 26-23. Berne Union was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Granville Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2018.
It was another big night for Ella Rhoads, who scored 14 points along with six steals and two blocks for Granville Christian Academy. Rhoads is crushing the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Hannah Hamilton, who scored four points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Berne Union's defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Granville Christian Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Berne Union will take on Horizon Science Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Horizon Science Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Saturday. As for Granville Christian Academy, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Madison Christian at 10:00 a.m. on February 17th. Madison Christian's defense has only allowed 26.1 points per game this season, so Granville Christian Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
