The El Dorado Aztecs will head out on the road to square off against the Del Valle Conquistadores at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
El Dorado made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hanks, but they still couldn't quite topple them. El Dorado put the hurt on Hanks with a sharp 16-8 victory on Saturday.
Sophia Lujan was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, she gave up only two walks, the fewest she's had since back in February. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, El Dorado got a massive performance out of Alyssa Lopez, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave Lopez a new career-high. Alannah Rabb also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
El Dorado always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hanks only posted an OBP of .297.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Del Valle). They blew past Hanks 23-5 on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Conquistadores as they're now sitting on six straight.
Mia Estrada was a standout: she got on base in all six of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Briyana Medina, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.
El Dorado is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. Del Valle's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-9-2.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. El Dorado hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .462. However, it's not like Del Valle struggles in that department as they've averaged .437. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
El Dorado suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Del Valle when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can El Dorado avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
