Basketball Game Preview: St. Paul Swordsmen vs. St. Bernard Vikings

St. Paul hasn't had much luck against St. Bernard recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The St. Paul Swordsmen will face off against the St. Bernard Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Monday, St. Paul earned a 56-43 victory over Bishop Montgomery. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Swordsmen.

Meanwhile, St. Bernard came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Knights with points to spare, taking the game 67-51.

St. Bernard's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-5. As for St. Paul, they are also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.

St. Paul came up short against St. Bernard in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 66-62. Can St. Paul avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
