Basketball Recap: Penney Comes Up Short

Penney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 79-26 defeat at the hands of the North Platte Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 521st, while the Panthers are ranked 69th).

Penney's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for North Platte, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-3.

Penney will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Maysville at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd. North Platte also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against St. Joseph Christian at 6:45 p.m. on February 4th.
