Basketball Recap: Peck Takes a Loss

If Peck was riding high fresh off their 62-32 takedown of Carsonville-Port Sanilac last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Peck Pirates took a 53-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dryden Cardinals on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 35-18 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Peck lost, don't look at Thomas West. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 10 on his way to 15 points along with seven boards and four blocks. West has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Honza Polhman, who posted seven points.

Peck's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Dryden, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Coming up, Peck will challenge Deckerville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dryden has already played their next match (against All Saints Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
