Baseball Recap: Cardinal Stritch Takes a Loss

Cardinal Stritch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Ottawa Hills Green Bears, falling 29-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Green Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 on Tuesday.

Cardinal Stritch saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angelo Nino, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Cardinal Stritch's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Ottawa Hills, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

Coming up, Cardinal Stritch will face off against Toledo Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ottawa Hills, they will challenge Clay at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Green Bears 1.6, the Eagles 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
