Volleyball Recap: Langston Hughes Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Langston Hughes lost against South Paulding back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Panthers fell 3-1 to the Spartans. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: South Paulding scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19, 21-25, 25-17.

Langston Hughes' offense was headlined by Kaylen Dowell and Desiree Robinson, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Chamarie Lisbon and her 23 assists. Robinson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Langston Hughes' loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for South Paulding, the victory snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-8 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Langston Hughes will challenge Griffin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Paulding, they will head out to square off against Cedartown at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
